A CHILD TO LOVE

This event is designed to give churches, both large and small, a strategy for ministering to an ever-growing number of special needs families. Together, we will learn:

  • How to understand kids and families with special needs

  • A flexible model of special needs ministry

  • How to create environments that are safe and accepting

 

DATE: THURSDAY, MARCH 7

TIME:  6:30-8:30 PM

COST: FREE!

DINNER:

A small dinner of pulled pork sandwiches, chips, and drinks will be served from 6:00-6:30 pm. Pre-registration is required for dinner. Registration deadline for dinner is Monday, March 4th at midnight.

CHILDCARE:

Childcare is available for kids 3 and under. Pre-registration is required. Registration deadline for childcare is Monday, March 4th at midnight.

SPEAKERS

JASON HAGUE

Jason Hague is the associate pastor of Christ’s Center Church, and the author of Aching Joy: Following God Through the Land of Unanswered Prayer (NavPress, 2018). Jason writes and speaks regularly on the intersection of faith, fatherhood, and autism, and he chronicles his own journey with his autistic son using prose, poetry, and video at JasonHague.com

SARA HAGUE

Sara Hague is the children’s pastor of Christ’s Center Church, an autism mom, and an advocate for special needs children and their families. She is the pioneer of “The Open Heavens Room,” a ministry at Christ’s Center that welcomes and accommodates children with developmental disabilities. Her writing has been featured in Focus on the Family Magazine, Clubhouse Jr., Upper Room, Short and Sweet, and Christian News Northwest.

COREY JACKSON

Corey Jackson is a LPC, Neurofeedback Clinician, & OPAC Facilitator at CAFA in Eugene, OR. He works primarily with children, families, and men. Areas of focus include emotional regulation, behavioral disorders, attention problems, and attachment. He facilitates groups including parenting, emotional intelligence, and integrating art into the healing process. Corey also teaches in the community in various settings.
